IFA Opens New Corporate Office
On August 14th, Independence Financial Advisors moved into their new corporate office located at 402 Central Street (former Odd Fellows Building) in downtown Franklin. Franklin Savings Bank acquired Independence Trust Company (ITC) in 2002, a non-depository trust company later converted into a registered investment advisory company today known as Independence Financial Advisors. At the time of acquisition, ITC had approximately $30 million in assets held under management. Since that time, through the development of new product and service offerings, the acquisition of GML Financial located in Rochester, NH, along with the vision of Mike Ventura, President & CEO, IFA now manages over $300 million in client assets, and remains committed to educating and entertaining its clients and prospects. The team of talented, knowledgeable financial advisors includes Mike, Paul, Pam, Luca and Jaimie. They are supported by a strong operational staff to include Patti, Ginny, Tammy, Martha and Elizabeth.
IFA has formed partnerships over the years with recognized experts in a variety of fields to include tax law, estate law, accounting, insurance and investment resources for its clients.
FSB Welcomes Barbara Laros & Andrew Cirrone to our Business Relationship Team
Franklin Savings Bank is pleased to welcome Barbara Laros and Andrew Cirrone to our Business Relationship Team; both will work under the tutelage of Heather Capraro, VP Senior Business Relationship Manager.
Barbara will assume the role of VP, Business Relationship Manager, and will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining business relationships in the Lakes Region. She brings over 24 years of experience in the banking industry to her role, having spent the majority of her career at Bank of New Hampshire and Citizens Bank. She will be located at our Gilford office.
Andrew joined FSB in September as Business Relationship & Southern NH Market Manager. Cirrone comes to the bank with over 16 years of experience in both retail banking and business development to his role, having served in similar positions at TD Bank and Digital Federal Credit Union. He will be based at our Merrimack office.

FSB unveils a Student Checking Account
We are pleased to announce a new Student Checking Account exclusively for students between the ages of 13 – 23. This unique checking account features several amazing perks.
Other facets of this account include text alerts to notify you immediately of account activity, mobile wallet with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay, person to person payments, CardValet along with free identity theft resolution services provided by CyberScout.
The Student Checking Account also offers a 1.00% rate reduction (based on current FSB rates) on a used automobile loan for an account holder’s first car, or the loan will be priced at the Wall Street Journal Prime rate, whichever is lower. The loan documentation fee will also be waived for this loan. A lender credit of $1,000 per loan will be granted from FSB towards mortgage closing costs for a first-time home loan on a residence located in New Hampshire.³
Here’s the best part about this new account. A student pursuing higher education can now access their FSB account while they are away from home. Now that’s smarter banking, easier living!
¹$50 incentive will be deposited into Student Checking account when you enroll in e-Statements. ²Student must provide copy of tuition bill or other evidence that they are attending a school or program. Tuition assistance will show as interest on the student’s 1099 for the year in which it was received. Tuition assistance will only be paid in the current school year. Maximum tuition assistance paid per student will be $550 over 4-year period. ³Individual must have a checking account with Franklin Savings Bank at the time of mortgage origination.
Back-to-School Supply Drive
FSB hosted a Back-to-School Supply Drive to assist schools throughout our market area with obtaining much-needed supplies for the new school year. Collection boxes were displayed at each of our 8 offices to allow customers to contribute items. The SmileSquad Committee donated $1,000 to assist each office with purchasing an array of supplies for grades K-8.
FSB Awards $38,000 to 8 Nonprofit Groups
On October 9th, FSB recognized eight local organizations for their contributions towards improving the lives of individuals and families throughout the Central Lakes Region at the 7th Annual Fund for Community Advancement event. The celebration also honors non-profit entities who received a grant from the FSB Fund for Community Advancement. This year’s honorees were Audubon Society of NH – Newfound Audubon Center, $5,000; Franklin VNA and Hospice, $8,000; Front Door Agency, $5,000; Granite State Animal League/Franklin Animal Shelter, $8,000; Granite United Way, $3,000; Humane Society for Greater Nashua, $1,000; and Winni Womenade, $3,000; This represented the 42nd round of grant funding totaling $38,000 in awards.
The Spaulding Youth Center was the recipient of this year’s Richard W. DuBois Community Impact Award. Each year, this prestigious award recognizes a grant that has made a significant impact in/or around the Franklin community. SPY received a $5,000 grant to support an equestrian program for low income children with disabilities.
26th Annual FSB Charity Softball Tournament Raises Money for Youth Baseball & Softball Programs
11 teams stepped up to the plate at the 26th annual FSB Charity Softball Tournament which took place September 18th – 22nd at Odell Park in Franklin. This year’s tournament raised just over $4,800 for local youth softball and baseball programs. Colton’s Heroes edged out Allpoints Property & Maintenance of Bristol to claim this year’s tournament title.
Since 1997, the FSB Charity Softball Tournament has raised over $94,000 for countless charities throughout the Central Lakes Region.
