Franklin Savings Bank recently purchased $15,000 in CDFA tax credits to assist the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire with transforming the Penacook Community Center into a new 7,500 square foot childcare and youth development center. The project is expected to cost $5.7 million and will provide a state-of-the-art facility, located in Penacook, for individuals and families to enjoy.
“We are proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire on the redevelopment of the Penacook Community Center into a modern facility,” mentioned Brian Bozak, President & COO. “This center has provided the community with access to affordable childcare services and summer camps, training and professional development classes for adults, and other youth programs for over 70 years. We are honored for the opportunity to become involved with this important project.”
The project has received funding from several sources, including a $500,000 block grant and $450,000 in tax credits (2023 & 2024) from the Community Development Finance Authority, in addition to donations from several businesses and private donors.
Added Chris Emond, Executive Director, “We are grateful for the generosity of Franklin Savings Bank and for their commitment to helping us with our fundraising efforts for this project. It’s these types of partnerships that really make a significant difference in providing access to critical resources, such as affordable childcare and other essential programs, to improve the well-being of our communities.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire provides a safe, fun environment for children and teenagers through early learning centers and before and after school programs in the greater Concord, Kearsarge Region and Lakes Region of NH.
